Dynamics of surface charge and electric field distributions on basin-type insulator in GIS/GIL due to voltage polarity reversal

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2020
In this study, a simulation model of surface charge accumulation has been established. The model considers three accumulation ways, i.e. electrical conduction within the gas, through insulator volume and along the insulator surface.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Correlated development of a (2 x 2) reconstruction and a charge accumulation layer on the InAs(111)-Bi surface

open access: yes, 2011
We have studied the formation of a Bi-induced (2 x 2) reconstruction on the InAs(111)B surface. In connection to the development of the (2 x 2) reconstruction, a two dimensional charge accumulation layer located at the bottom of the InAs conduction band ...

Electron transfer between complexes III and IV in S. cerevisiae mitochondrial membranes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation in S. cerevisiae mitoplasts is limited by complex IV catalytic capacity, rather than two‐dimensional cytochrome c diffusion. At physiological cytochrome c : supercomplex ratios at salinity equivalent to that of 20 mm monovalent salt, activity is maximized, indicating that this low ionic strength accurately mimics

Thermal Aging-Induced Evolution of Surface Charge Dynamics in Al2O3-Doped Epoxy Resin Insulators for GIS/GIL

open access: yesEnergies
Thermal stress is an important factor affecting the long-term performance of solid insulation in GIS/GIL, and the physicochemical properties of insulating materials play a crucial role in governing surface charge dynamics.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

A simple method considering the synergetic effect of space charge and inhomogeneous material conductivity for DC electric field computation

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2022
The current continuity equation is usually applied to solve DC electric field distribution when there is inhomogeneous material conductivity due to temperature gradient or multi‐layer dielectrics.
