Minimally Invasive Delivery of Optical Nanosensors Using Injectable Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Injectable peptide hydrogels offer a minimally invasive delivery platform for single‐walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT)‐based near‐infrared fluorescent sensors, enabling real‐time measurement of drug concentrations. Encapsulated SWCNTs show a dose‐dependent fluorescence response across physiologically relevant concentrations and retain their fluorescence ...

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Revealing the regulation of water dipole potential to aggregation of amyloid‐β 42 at chiral interface by surface‐enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy

open access: yesAggregate
Surface chirality plays an important role in determining the biological effect, but the molecular nature beyond stereoselectivity is still unknown. Herein, through surface‐enhanced infrared absorption spectroscopy, electrochemistry, and theoretical ...

Reconnaissance Peptide Labeling Grain Boundary of Chemically Grown MoS2 Polycrystalline Monolayer

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled peptides on substrates, through adsorption and aggregation, offer an alternative way to label grain boundaries in chemically grown single‐layer polycrystalline MoS2. During an early nucleation step, peptides preferentially bind to grain boundaries.

Mechanism of surface plasmon polarition propagation for nano-optics applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In recent times a new emerging research field has become more and more popular in the optics community, which is plasmonics. This discipline studies the surprising optical properties of metals at the nano-scale, which are substantially different from ...

Large Faraday Rotation in Liquid Crystals With Embedded Paramagnetic Ions (Cu2+, VO2+) at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Large Faraday rotation at room temperature is observed in thin films of discotic copper (Cu2+: 3d9) and vanadyl (VO2+: 3d1) enaminoketone complexes. The large Verdet constant originates from a high density of paramagnetic centers, metal‐ligand p−d hybridization and π orbitals involved in optical transitions (identified by DFT calculations), as well as ...

Thermo‐Derived Cholesteric Liquid Crystal Elastomer Pattern with Composite Structural Colors

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A thermochromic cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) oligomer was synthesized for the preparation of CLC elastomer (CLCE) films with dual reflection bands. Subsequently, a CLCE pattern with composite structural colors was prepared, which was suitably applied for decoration and anti‐counterfeiting.

Chirality hierarchical transfer in homochiral polymer crystallization under high-pressure CO2

open access: yesNature Communications
Ordered phase transitions are commonly correlated to symmetry breaking, while disordered phase transitions are characterized by symmetry restoration.

Exploring the Synergy of Combining BINAP and tCzBN Motifs Within Multi‐Resonant TADF Emitters to Enhance OLED Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents two MR‐TADF emitters, BINAP‐BN1 and BINAP‐BN2, based on a BINAP core and differing numbers of tCzBN units. Both emitters show similar solution photophysics, but distinct behavior in doped films, where BINAP‐BN1 exhibits higher photoluminescence quantum yield and suppressed aggregation‐induced emission broadening compared to BINAP‐BN2.

Wavevector selective surface

open access: yes
Frequency selective surfaces are very well known and have been investigated in detail. Here we for the first time introduce the concept of a wavevector selective surface and demonstrate it ...
