In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Mechanism exploration of ion-implanted epoxy on surface trap distribution: An approach to augment the vacuum flashover voltages

open access: yesNanotechnology Reviews
The augmentation of the epoxy (EP) resin surface to advance flashover performance has become a pivotal point of global interest. This research introduces a novel surface modification method and its mechanism for insulation materials. The research follows

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Temperature dependence of Cu:SnO2 film conductivity in air medium

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов, 2023
Temperature conductivity studies of films based on Cu:SnO2 made by magnetron sputtering of the mixed target CuO/SnO2 have been carried out. Temperature conductivity dependencies were substantially nonlinear.

Anomalous surface conductivity of Weyl semimetals

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2022
We calculate the surface dc conductivity of Weyl semimetals and show that it contains an anomalous contribution in addition to a Drude contribution from the Fermi arc. The anomalous part is independent of the surface scattering time, and appears at nonzero temperature and doping (away from the Weyl nodes), increasing quadratically with both with a ...

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Inverse Conductivity Problem on Riemann Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geometric Analysis, 2008
An electrical potential U on a bordered Riemann surface X with conductivity function sigma>0 satisfies equation d(sigma d^cU)=0. The problem of effective reconstruction of sigma is studied. We extend to the case of Riemann surfaces the reconstruction scheme given, firstly, by R.Novikov (1988) for simply connected X. We apply for this new kernels for

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Tracking slab surface temperatures with electrical conductivity of glaucophane

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Slab surface temperature is one of the key parameters that incur first-order changes in subduction dynamics. However, the current thermal models are based on empirical thermal parameters and do not accurately capture the complex pressure–temperature ...
