The Crack Propagation Trend Analysis in Ceramic Rolling Element Bearing considering Initial Crack Angle and Contact Load Effect

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2021
Silicon nitride ceramic bearings are widely used for their excellent performance. However, due to their special manufacturing method, cracks will occur on ceramic ball surface, and this initial surface crack will propagate under the action of cyclic ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Three-dimensional numerical simulation of factors affecting surface cracking in double-layer rock mass

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Stratified rock masses comprise various rocks with different thicknesses, lithologies, and compositions. They exhibit unique cracking morphology and failure modes when subjected to external loads.

Fatigue crack surface area and crack front length: new ways to look at fatigue crack growth

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
This paper discusses the appropriateness of crack length as a reference dimension for fatigue damage. Current discussion on short crack versus long crack data is still divided between various approaches to model small crack growth.

Energy radiation of moving cracks

open access: yes, 2001
The energy radiated by moving cracks in a discrete background is analyzed. The energy flow through a given surface is expressed in terms of a generalized Poynting vector. The velocity of the crack is determined by the radiation by the crack tip.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Surface Crack Identification on a Cylinder Using the Signal Enhancement of the Scanning Laser Line Source Method

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Cylindrical structures play an important role in industrial fields. The surface crack is a typical defect in the cylindrical structures. Non-destructive surface crack detection of these structures is critical to the safe operation of the equipment.
