Surface electromyography (sEMG) sensor measures the user's muscle activities by noninvasively placing electrodes on the surface of the user's skin. It has been widely used in monitoring various human movements. Recently a wearable and flexible epidermal sensor system called Electronic Tattoo (E-Tattoo) has been developed to enable intimate attachment ...

Surface electromyography (sEMG) feature extraction based on Daubechies wavelets
2013 IEEE 8th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2013Wavelet transform feature extraction has become one of the most powerful techniques to improve the classification accuracy. In this paper, we are investigating the multi-level Daubechies wavelet reconstruction parameters. The EMG signal after performing the Daubechies wavelet was further processed by using one of the most successful features which is ...

Objective assessment of opioid action by facial muscle surface electromyography (SEMG)
Progress in Neuro-Psychopharmacology and Biological Psychiatry, 19881. Activity of the mimetic muscles of the upper face were recorded from awake and anesthetized patients by surface electromyography (SEMG). 2. High amplitude SEMG accompanied ketamine anesthesia and/or the presentation of pain-provoking stimuli. 3. During periods of elevated facial muscle activity, fentanyl or butorphanol decreased SEMG amplitude.
