On the new type variable stiffness surface grinding machine

Journal of Mechanical Working Technology, 1988
Abstract This study deals with a new type surface grinding machine which can give various grinding performances by changing its static stiffness and damping properties freely. As the first step, a prototype of such a variable stiffness surface grinding machine is manufactured and its feasibility is investigated by conducting the simulation grinding ...

Comparative machinability and surface integrity in grinding of titanium

2015
This paper investigates the surface grinding process to evaluate the effect of input parameters of titanium, which is commonly known to have poor machinability. Dry and wet grinding experiments have been carried out and optimal conditions for grinding titanium have been identified with respect to feed rate, wheel speed and depth of cut.

Dynamic machinability and quality of surface by grinding polymer materials

2009
This work is focused on the issue of finishing operation by grinding plastic materials. Evaluated surface roughness parameters are connected with changing technological conditions. Within the cutting process, cutting forces are measured on strain gauge dynamometer. Results are given in comparison with standard metal material C45.

Improved Technical and Physical Utilisation of Vertical Surface Grinding Machines by Peripheral Face Grinding

1976
This paper shows that the grinding process on conventional vertical surface grinding machines may be improved in intensity, economically, by a novel co-ordination of the setting quantities such as cutting depth and feed rate. As a prerequisite, the wear mechanism and the stage of self-sharpening under the given conditions must be known. Peripheral face
