Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Aspects of improving the quality of products manufactured by additive technologies

open access: yesАрхитектура, строительство, транспорт
Today, additive technologies are common used in different areas of human life and economics. However, the aspects of technological support for various parameters of accuracy in products obtained with 3D printing are not yet fully understood.

Concerning marginal singularities in the boundary-layer flow on a downstream-moving surface

open access: yes, 1996
The formation of separation singularities in solutions of the classical boundary-layer equations is studied numerically and analytically for the case of a two-dimensional incompressible steady flow near a solid surface moving in the direction of the main

Flow around a cube in a turbulent boundary layer: LES and experiment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present a numerical simulation of flow around a surface mounted cube placed in a turbulent boundary layer which, although representing a typical wind environment, has been specifically tailored to match a series of wind tunnel observations.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Morphological Features and Microstructural Characteristics of Craters on the Surface of Industrial Aluminum Alloy AA6111 Irradiated with a High-Current Pulsed Electron Beam

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics
Irradiation of the industrial aluminum alloy AA6111 with a high-current pulsed electron beam (HCPEB) with particle energy of 0.35 MeV, a beam current of 2.0 kA, a pulse duration of 5 μs, and a beam diameter of 3 cm results in the formation of a surface ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Analysis of the land surface heterogeneity and its impact on atmospheric variables and the aerodynamic and thermodynamic roughness lengths

open access: yes, 2008
The land surface heterogeneity has a very significant impact on atmospheric variables (air temperature T-a, wind speed u, and humidity q), the aerodynamic roughness length z(0m), thermodynamic roughness length z(0h), and the excess resistance to heat ...

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for
