Mechanism Insights into Nanostructuring and Wettability on Au Thin Film: Effect of Substrate and Low‐Energy Ion Irradiation

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research
The nanostructuring of Au thin films induced by ion irradiation is significantly affected by substrate interactions, where processes such as sputtering, diffusion, and dewetting are pivotal in determining the evolution of surface morphology and ...

Embedded Ferroelectric Nanoclusters Can Drive Polarization Reversal in a Non‐Ferroelectric Polar Film via the Proximity Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nanoclusters create local internal fields in a normally non‐switchable polar film because of polarization mismatch at their interfaces. That field opposes polarization in the regions with larger polarization and reinforces polarization in the regions with smaller polarization.

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Nanoscale Spatial Tuning of Superconductivity in Cuprate Thin Films via Direct Laser Writing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Maskless direct laser writing enables local control of oxygen stoichiometry in epitaxial YBCO thin films under ambient conditions. Sub‐micrometer grayscale patterns with tunable optical response and superconducting transport properties are achieved.

Two‐Photon Grayscale Lithography (2GL) of High Mechanical and Optical Quality 3D Silica Glass Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two‐photon grayscale lithography (2GL) enables high‐speed and precise 3D printing of thermolyzed silica glass microstructures with optical‐grade surface quality, high quality factors, and mechanical strength utilizing a custom‐made pre‐glass resist based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) modified with a high‐sensitivity Norrish type II ...

Nanostructured Surface Engineering

open access: yes, 2017
—Graphene was dispersed using a tip sonicator and the effect of surfactants were analysed. Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate (SDS) and Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) were compared to observe whether or not they had any effect on any de-wrinkling, and secondly whether they aided to achieve better dispersions. There is a huge demand for wrinkle free graphene as this will

Biomineral‐Inspired Organic/Inorganic Colloidal Liquid‐Crystalline Hybrids for Photoresponsive Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A new class of photoresponsive liquid‐crystalline (LC) adhesives based on biomineral‐inspired organic/inorganic colloidal hybrids is reported. These colloidal LC materials are formed by hybridization of a hydroxyapatite nanorod with azobenzene‐based forklike molecules.

Scanning probe nanostructuring of YBa2Cu307 : a corrosion induced abrasion

open access: yes, 1997
Nanostructuring experiments were performed on a YBa2Cu307 thin film surface with an atomic force microscope (AFM) with a conductive tip. Measurements of the local conductivity with the AFM tip show that corrosion towards a nonconducting surface occurs on
