Surface-Plasmon-Assisted Growth, Reshaping and Transformation of Nanomaterials

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
Excitation of surface plasmon resonance of metal nanostructures is a promising way to break the limit of optical diffraction and to achieve a great enhancement of the local electromagnetic field by the confinement of optical field at the nanoscale ...

Surface Plasmon Singularities

open access: yesInternational Journal of Optics, 2012
With the purpose to compare the physical features of the electromagnetic field, we describe the synthesis of optical singularities propagating in the free space and on a metal surface.

Au-Ag Gradient Alloy Nanoparticles with Extended Surface Plasmon Resonance Wavelength: Synthesis via Microreaction

open access: yesNano Biomedicine and Engineering, 2011
Au-Ag gradient alloy nanoparticles were directly synthesized in a microreaction system with their surface plasmon resonance been facilely adjusted. The surface plasmon resonance wavelength was red-shifted through increasing the raw ratio of Au3+:Ag ...

High-Performance coupled plasmon waveguide resonance optical sensor based on SiO2:Ag film

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
A coupled plasmon waveguide resonance (CPWR)-based optical sensor takes advantage of the evanescent wave at a waveguide boundary to excite surface plasmon polaritons, which can link waveguide electromagnetic energy to a surface plasmon wave to enhance ...

Surface-Enhanced Plasmon Splitting in a Liquid-Crystal-Coated Gold Nanoparticle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We show that, when a gold nanoparticle is coated by a thin layer of nematic liquid crystal, the deformation produced by the nanoparticle surface can enhance the splitting of the nanoparticle surface plasmon.

Surface plasmon peak intensity dependence on the oxygen coverage at metal surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The dependence of the surface plasmon peak intensity on a submonolayer coverage of oxygen in the reflection electron energy loss spectra has been investigated for non-monocrystalline aluminium, magnesium, and indium surfaces.

Pearcey plasmon: An autofocusing surface wave

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2021
In this article, we present a new kind of autofocusing surface plasmonic wave: the Pearcey plasmon. The result shows that the Pearcey plasmon evolves at the silver-air interface in the form of two-dimensional Pearcey plasmon function.
