In this chapter, surface rainfall budget is analyzed using model domain-mean cloud-resolving simulation data of tropical rainfall event during TOGA COARE. The rain rate is mainly associated with water vapor convergence, while it is significantly modified by local changes of water vapor and cloud hydrometeor at a short time scale.
