Effect of the Synthetic Parameters over ZnO in the CO2 Photoreduction
Zinc oxide (ZnO) is an attractive semiconductor material for photocatalytic applications, owing to its opto-electronic properties. Its performances are, however, strongly affected by the surface and opto-electronic properties (i.e., surface composition ...

Low‐density lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 6 (LRP6) is a key receptor for the Wnt antagonist Dickkopf1 (DKK1). DKK1 protein expression is induced in a bleomycin (BLM)‐induced lung injury model. We show that DKK1 induces proinflammatory and profibrotic genes in lung fibroblasts.

Measurement of titanium surface roughness created by non-conventional cutting technology
The paper evaluates the surface roughness quality of the titanium samples created by abrasive waterjet (AWJ) and by CO2 laser beam cuttings. The introduction describes the principle of the mechanical (contact) method as well as the roughness parameters ...

On surfaces obtained as singular loci of normal congruences of frontals with pure-frontal singular points [PDF]
We study singularities and geometric properties of surfaces given by the singular loci of normal congruence of frontals with pure-frontal singular points. These surfaces consist of the normal ruled surface and focal surfaces of the initial frontal. For the normal ruled surface, we give characterizations of singularities in terms of geometric invariants

Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.

Insertion of the FeB cofactor in cNORs lacking metal inserting chaperones
Nitric oxide reductase is an enzyme found in the bacterial denitrification pathway. The NOR active site contains a non‐heme iron, often, but not always inserted with the assistance of chaperones. Here, we study the insertion of FeB in the subfamily of cNORs lacking chaperones and found a putative channel, conserved in the family, perhaps enabling the ...

Surface Studies on Glass Powders Used in Commercial Glass-Ionomer Dental Cements
The surface properties of three commercial ionomer glass powders, i.e., Fuji IX, Kavitan Plus and Chemadent G-J-W were studied. Samples were analyzed by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), and the density was determined by gas pycnometry.
