Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Analysis of the wall thickness of intracranial aneurysms: Can computational fluid dynamics detect the translucent areas of saccular intracranial aneurysms and predict the rupture risk preoperatively?

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2023
Background and purposeThe translucent area on the surface of intracranial aneurysms (IAs) is associated with rupture risk. In the present study, the Polyflow module of the Ansys software was used to simulate and analyze the thickness of the aneurysm wall

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Calibration of subsurface dynamic parameters and fault geometry from surface fault rupture observations: an example from the shallow 2019 Mw4.9 Le Teil (France) event.

open access: yes, 2022
International audienceWe investigate the impact of several friction, stress drop and fault geometry on surface fault rupture amount and patterns. Based on a shallow reverse surface rupturing Mw4.9 earthquake which occurred in southeastern France in ...

High-Detail Fault Segmentation: Deep Insight into the Anatomy of the 1983 Borah Peak Earthquake Rupture Zone (Mw 6.9, Idaho, USA)

open access: yesLithosphere, 2022
Following observations made in a survey campaign along the Lost River Fault (Idaho, USA) in 2019, we integrate both original and previously published data to obtain a detailed segmentation of the fault sections that failed in the 1983 Borah Peak ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Sub‐Pixel Displacement Estimation With Deep Learning: Application to Optical Satellite Images Containing Sharp Displacements

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation
Optical image correlation is a powerful method for remotely constraining ground movement from optical satellite imagery related to natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides).

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...
