An arbitrary mesh network scheme using rational splines

open access: yes, 1991
A C1 surface scheme is described which interpolates points defined on an arbitrary mesh network. The scheme involves the blending of strip ‘functions’ developed from a rational spline method.

A tension approach to controlling the shape of cubic spline surfaces on FVS triangulations

open access: yes, 2009
We propose a parametric tensioned version of the FVS macro-element to control the shape of the composite surface and remove artificial oscillations, bumps and other undesired behaviour.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

A Bioinspired Flexible Film Fabricated by Surface-Tension-Assisted Replica Molding for Dynamic Control of Unidirectional Liquid Spreading

open access: yes, 2019
The unidirectional liquid spreading without external energy input has presently aroused widespread concern. Recently, on the peristome of Nepenthes alata, a novel 2D unidirectional liquid spreading has been reported.

THE DEVICE FOR THE MEASUREMENTS OF SURFACE TENSION FOR METALS IN THE SOLID STATE [PDF]

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов, 2012
The shortcomings of compensation zero creep method for the measurements of surface tension for metals σ in the solid state and obstacles of high-temperature measurements in vacuum are analyzed in present paper.

Using Surface Tension Gradients to Reduce Condensate Retention and Improve Heat Exchanger Performance in Air Conditioning Systems

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents a novel method for patterning metal fin surfaces used in HVAC&R applications to mitigate problems associated with condensate retention.

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.
