Weighted and metric surface networks - new insights and an interactive application for their generalisation in Tcl/Tk [PDF]
The idea of characterising the different forms of natural topographic surfaces by a topologicalmodel based on their fundamental surface features has attracted many proposals. In this paper, adetailed discussion and new proposals on various issues related

There are many topological faces of the superfluid phases of $^3$He. These superfluids contain various topological defects and textures. The momentum space topology of these superfluids is also nontrivial, as well as the topology in the combined (${\bf p}

3D‐Printed Architected Material for the Generation of Foam‐Based Protective Equipment
This study investigates 3D‐printed architected structures as alternatives to traditional foams in protective gear. It focuses on customizing impact strength and damping through design and manufacturing integration. Testing shows these structures outperform conventional foams, offering enhanced customizability, lower weight, and tunable performance ...

Homotopy K3's with several symplectic structures
In this note we prove that, for any integer n, there exist a smooth 4-manifold, homotopic to a K3 surface, defined by applying the link surgery method of Fintushel-Stern to a certain 2-component graph link, which admits n inequivalent symplectic ...

Electronic theory for superconductivity in Sr$_2$RuO$_4$: triplet pairing due to spin-fluctuation exchange [PDF]
Using a two-dimensional Hubbard Hamiltonian for the three electronic bands crossing the Fermi level in Sr$_2$RuO$_4$ we calculate the band structure and spin susceptibility $\chi({\bf q}, \omega)$ in quantitative agreement with nuclear magnetic resonance

Primary phases and a fatigue crack are studied in a forged blank of an aluminum alloy using synchrotron and laboratory X‐ray computed tomography. To image the crack, the fatigue test is interrupted, and a static tensile load is applied to open the crack.
