Observation of Emergent Dirac Physics at the Surfaces of Acoustic Higher‐Order Topological Insulators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2022
Using 3D sonic crystals as acoustic higher‐order topological insulators (HOTIs), 2D surface states described by spin‐1 Dirac equations at the interfaces between the two sonic crystals with distinct topology but the same crystalline symmetry are ...

Anomalies of a topologically ordered surface [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
AbstractBulk insulators with strong spin orbit coupling exhibit metallic surface states possessing topological order protected by the time reversal symmetry. However, experiments show vulnerability of topological states to aging and impurities. Different studies show contrasting behavior of the Dirac states along with plethora of anomalies, which has ...

Study of Microstructure, Texture, and Cooking Qualities of Reformulated Whole Wheat Flour Pasta by Substituting Water with Stearic Acid–Candelilla Wax–Groundnut Oil Oleogel

open access: yesChemEngineering
Oleogels, which are traditionally utilized to reduce saturated and trans fats in bakery foods, have recently shown promising applications in non-bakery foods, particularly in the enhancement of their food texture and cooking qualities.

Detailed topology mapping reveals substantial exposure of the "cytoplasmic" C-terminal tail (CTT) sequences in HIV-1 Env proteins at the cell surface. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Substantial controversy surrounds the membrane topology of the HIV-1 gp41 C-terminal tail (CTT). While few studies have been designed to directly address the topology of the CTT, results from envelope (Env) protein trafficking studies suggest that the ...

The metric space of geodesic laminations on a surface II: small surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We continue our investigation of the space of geodesic laminations on a surface, endowed with the Hausdorff topology. We determine the topology of this space for the once-punctured torus and the 4-times-punctured sphere.

Diffusion at the surface of topological insulators

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2012
We consider the transport properties of topological insulators surface states in the presence of uncorrelated point-like disorder, both in the classical and quantum regimes. The transport properties of those two-dimensional surface states depend strongly on the amplitude of the hexagonal warping of their Fermi surface.

Large magnetoresistance and Fermi surface topology of PrSb [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We report magnetotransport measurements of PrSb in high magnetic fields. Our results show that PrSb exhibits large magnetoresistance at low temperatures.

Concurrent optimization method of shape and topology for natural vibration problem of shell structures

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2023
In this paper, a concurrent optimization method of shape and topology for natural vibration design of shell structures is presented. The fundamental vibration eigenvalue is maximized under volume constraints for shape and topology optimization.

ARPES study of Pb doped Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_8 - a new Fermi surface picture

open access: yes, 2001
High resolution angle resolved photoemission data from Pb doped Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_8 (Bi2212) with suppressed superstructure is presented. Improved resolution and very high momentum space sampling at various photon energies reveal the presence of two Fermi ...

The change of Fermi surface topology in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 with doping [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We report the observation of a change in Fermi surface topology of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 with doping. By collecting high statistics ARPES data from moderately and highly overdoped samples and dividing the data by the Fermi function, we answer a long standing ...
