LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Determination of mean surface position and sea state from the radar return of a short-pulse satellite altimeter [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
Using the specular point theory of scatter from a very rough surface, the average backscatter cross section per unit area per radar cell width is derived for a cell located at a given height above the mean sea surface.

The Impact of Sea State Condition on Airborne Lidar Bathymetry Measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Due to a large number of available Airborne Lidar Bathymetry (ALB) survey datasets and scheduled future surveys, there is a growing need from coastal mapping communities to estimate the accuracy of ALB as a function of the survey system and environmental

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

The Influence of Indian Ocean Dipole on Surface Wind Speed Variation in Coastal South China

open access: yesRedai dili
Wind speed is an important parameter reflecting the climate and environmental conditions on the Earth's surface. It is also a pivotal factor influencing wind energy, a renewable and clean energy source.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Variability and trends of near-surface wind speed over the Tibetan Plateau: The role played by the westerly and Asian monsoon

open access: yesAdvances in Climate Change Research
Near-surface wind speed exerts profound impacts on many environmental issues, while the long-term (≥60 years) trend and multidecadal variability in the wind speed and its underlying causes in global high-elevation and mountainous areas (e.g., Tibetan ...

Numerical Simulation of Hot Accretion Flows (III): Revisiting wind properties using trajectory approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Previous MHD simulations have shown that wind must exist in black hole hot accretion flows. In this paper, we continue our study by investigating the detailed properties of wind, such as mass flux and poloidal speed, and the mechanism of wind production.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Identifying and Correcting for Residual Biases in the ASCAT and ERA5 Wind Speed Products

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
The advanced scatterometer (ASCAT) instrument is a real-aperture radar that operates at C-band and measures backscatter from the ocean surface, from which near surface wind speed is estimated.
