The virtual fundamental class for the moduli space of surfaces of general type

open access: yes, 2023
We suggest a construction of obstruction theory on the moduli stack of index one covers over semi-log-canonical surfaces of general type. Comparing with the index one covering Deligne-Mumford stack of a semi-log-canonical surface, we define the $\lci ...

GAD65 Antibody ELISA With Extended Reportable Range: Validation and Guidance for Neurological Practice

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To (1) validate GAD65‐ELISA detection and quantification for type 1 diabetes mellitus and autoimmune neurological diagnoses, (2) correlate ELISA results (reference range < 5 IU/mL) with established radioimmunoprecipitation assay (RIA; ≤ 0.02 nmol/L), and (3) define ELISA clinical utility and pitfalls.

248 Norovirus-Associated Acute Gastroenteritis Clusters in an Electronic Health Record System for Long-Term Care Facilities.

open access: yesAntimicrobial Stewardship & Healthcare Epidemiology
Background: There is an increased recognition of importance of quality of environmental cleaning services and its impact on hospital associated infections rates in healthcare facilities. In the era of growing prevalence of multidrug resistance organisms,

On rational maps from a general surface in P^3 to surfaces of general type

open access: yes, 2008
We study dominant rational maps from a general surface in $\mathbb P^{3}$ to surfaces of general type. We prove restrictions on the target surfaces. We show that for small degree the general surface has no such map.

Unraveling 4‐Phenylbutyrate's Therapeutic Role in SLC6A1 Disorders: Pharmacochaperoning Over HDAC Inhibition

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Variants in SLC6A1, encoding the GABA transporter 1 (GAT‐1), cause epilepsy, autism spectrum disorder, and developmental delay via loss of GABA uptake, impaired trafficking, and ER retention. We previously found that 4‐Phenylbutyrate (PBA), an FDA‐approved drug, restores GABA uptake and reduces seizures in SLC6A1‐related disorders ...

Shape recognition and form error evaluation of quadric surfaces

open access: yes
Quadric surfaces commonly exist in natural objects and artificial components. It is widely needed to recognise the actual surface shape from a set of measured data points.

Peripheral Neutrophil Activation and Extracellular Trap Formation in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
Markers of neutrophil activation are increased in plasma during ALS, and markers of NET formation associate with ALS survival. ABSTRACT Objectives Peripheral neutrophil levels in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) inversely correlate with survival, suggesting a role for neutrophils in disease progression.

Automorphism Groups Of Complex Surfaces Of General Type.

open access: yes, 1987
It is known that the group of automorphisms of complex surfaces of general type is finite, and in fact bounded by a function of the topological Euler characteristic.

Cognitive and Neuroimaging Divergence Between Juvenile and Adult FUS Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Fused in sarcoma (FUS)‐associated juvenile ALS (jALS) represents a distinct and aggressive subgroup with rapid deterioration and poor prognosis.

A Qualitative Analysis of Patient Perspectives and Preferences in Lupus Management to Guide Lupus Guidelines Development

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective A patient‐centered approach for chronic disease management, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), aligns treatment with patients’ values and preferences, leading to improved outcomes. This paper summarizes how patient experiences, perspectives, and priorities informed the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) 2024 Lupus Nephritis (LN)
