Storm surge prediction: Present status and future challenges

open access: yes, 2017
In the current review, the most pessimistic events of the globe in history are addressed when we present severe impacts caused by storm surges. During previous decades, great progresses in storm surge modeling have been made.

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Study on the surge formula system of typical dangerous rock mass collapse with different instability modes

open access: yesZhongguo dizhi zaihai yu fangzhi xuebao
The collapse of high and steep dangerous rock in the gorge area produces huge surge hazards, which seriously endangers the safety of waterways and scenic spots. However, the systematic research on the surge caused by perilous rock collapse is not enough,
