High‐Performance Low‐Emissivity Paints Enabled by N‐Doped Poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) for Energy‐Efficient Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a scalable and colored low‐emissivity (low‐e) paint achieved by spraying an ultrathin n‐doped poly(benzodifurandione) (n‐PBDF) coating onto various colored substrates. The low‐e paint enhances thermal regulation by reducing mid‐infrared thermal emissivity to 0.19, thereby stabilizing indoor temperatures across diverse climates ...

Active Thermal Field Integration for Marangoni‐Driven Salt Rejection and Water Collection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A thermal gradient fabric (TGF) evaporator with an auxiliary active thermal field can simultaneously increase evaporation rates and achieve long‐term salt rejection. The auxiliary active thermal field is well integrated with solar energy to construct moderate, extensive, and circulating Marangoni flow for salt rejection.

Discovery of an Intrinsic Antiferromagnetic Semiconductor EuSc2Te4 With Magnetism‐Driven Nonlinear Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
EuSc₂Te₄, an antiferromagnetic semiconductor, exhibits a nonlinear Hall effect (NLHE) characterized by quadratic current–voltage behavior. Combined experimental and theoretical studies reveal that this NLHE is linked to its antiferromagnetism and involves contributions from the quantum metric.

Ternary Transistors With Reconfigurable Polarities

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polarity‐reconfigurable ternary transistors are demonstrated using black phosphorus homojunction with asymmetric contacts and split‐gate structures. Suppression of majority carrier injection, while Fowler–Nordheim tunneling of low‐density minority carriers persists, enables a well‐defined intermediate state with improved on/off ratios.

A new robust LMI-based model predictive control for continuous-time uncertain nonlinear systems

open access: yesAutomatika, 2020
This paper presents a new robust predictive controller for a special class of continuous-time non-linear systems with uncertainty. These systems have bounded disturbances with unknown upper bound as well as constraints on input states.

Suppression of chemotherapy-induced cytokine/lipid mediator surge and ovarian cancer by a dual COX-2/sEH inhibitor

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 2019
Significance Our study demonstrates that ovarian tumor cell debris generated by front-line chemotherapy promotes tumor growth by stimulating the release of proinflammatory cytokines and lipid mediators in the tumor microenvironment.

Advanced Nano‐Fibrillated Cellulose/Modified MXene Janus Membrane for Continuous 24‐h Water‐Power Co‐Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Janus membrane integrates a superhydrophilic CNF@CTAB‐MXene layer with a superhydrophobic PTFE layer, enabling efficient solar‐driven water evaporation and electricity generation. It achieves an evaporation rate of 1.51 kg m−2 h−1 with excellent salt resistance and long‐term stability.

Transformation of Surges

open access: yesCoastal Engineering 1966, 1966
This paper deals with the transient deformation of surges (bores) both theoretically and experimentally. Ideal surges in open channels would normally disperse into periodic waves and be transformed to the undular bore. A train of these dispersive waves may finally reach some stable form e.g. solitary or cnoidal vwaves.
