Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Margin status, re-excision, and completion mastectomy after oncoplastic versus conventional breast-conserving surgery for breast cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundOncoplastic breast-conserving surgery (OBCS) may permit wider excision within a breast-conserving approach, but its effects on margin control and subsequent surgery remain uncertain.MethodsWe searched PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, Web of Science Core

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Impact of Treatment Modalities on Locally Advanced Gastric Cancer—Real-World Data

open access: yesCurrent Oncology
The optimal sequencing of chemotherapy in locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC) remains controversial. This study aimed to compare survival outcomes between adjuvant (ACT) and neoadjuvant (NACT) chemotherapy and to identify clinicopathological factors ...

Ionic Precursors Transformed Into Vinyl Acetate Synthesis Catalyst via Reaction‐Driven Restructuring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that a simple physical mixture of Pd and Au ionic precursors, KOAc promoter, and SiO2 support can transform into a highly active vinyl acetate synthesis catalyst through reaction‐driven restructuring. The results highlight reaction‐induced restructuring as an innovative and sustainable catalyst design strategy.

Surgical margins for the extirpation of oral cancer

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, 2016
The surgical margin, called the surgical safety margin, is an important consideration when resecting primary oral cancers. However, what is an adequate surgical margin is unclear. Moreover, many resection margins are deemed negative or “free” if the frozen section is negative, regardless of the proximity of the margin to the tumor mass.
