Cell‐free and extracellular vesicle microRNAs with clinical utility for solid tumors

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free microRNAs (cfmiRs) are small‐RNA circulating molecules detectable in almost all body biofluids. Innovative technologies have improved the application of cfmiRs to oncology, with a focus on clinical needs for different solid tumors, but with emphasis on diagnosis, prognosis, cancer recurrence, as well as treatment monitoring.

Surgical Site Infection

open access: yesJournal of Islamic International Medical College, 2014
Surgical Site Infection (SSI) accounts for 15% of all nosocomial infections. Post surgical infection leads to higher readmission, increased length of postoperative hospital stay which drastically escalate expenses and jeopardize health outcomes.

Surgical Site Infection

open access: yes, 2020
Surgical site infections (SSIs) remain a significant source of postoperative morbidity throughout the world. Surgeons operating in resource-poor areas face the added challenges of patient malnutrition, inconsistent access to antimicrobials and underdeveloped patient and bacterial resistance surveillance systems. Nonetheless, adherence to sound surgical

Combined spatially resolved metabolomics and spatial transcriptomics reveal the mechanism of RACK1‐mediated fatty acid synthesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The authors analyzed the spatial distributions of gene and metabolite profiles in cervical cancer through spatial transcriptomic and spatially resolved metabolomic techniques. Pivotal genes and metabolites within these cases were then identified and validated.

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.
