The term "rhinophyma" is derived from the Greek, rhis , 'nose' and phyma , 'growth.' It is a benign condition which, microscopically, shows enlarged cystic sebaceous glands, marked fibrosis, and vascular dilation. Rhinophyma is usually seen in males over 50 years of age. The male-female ratio is 10 to 1.
