SURJECTIVE QUADRATIC JORDAN ALGEBRAS

Summary: We introduce the concepts of surjectivity and linear minimality for quadratic Jordan algebras, then we present a partial classification of such algebras of characteristic 2. As a corollary, we obtain that in substance non-trivial minimal quadratic Jordan algebras are fields.

Convergence and combinatorics of the Reverse algorithm

Abstract We study the Reverse algorithm, a multidimensional continued fraction algorithm, which is not unimodular. We show that the Reverse algorithm is ergodic and, by proving that its second Lyapunov exponent is negative, that it is a.e. exponentially convergent.

Geometric inverse semigroup theory: a note on the Milnor–Schwarz lemma for inverse monoids

Abstract We generalise the Milnor–Schwarz lemma to inverse monoids acting on presheaves of geodesic metric spaces. We provide two proofs of this fact: one only uses elementary techniques, inspired by the arguments for group actions on metric spaces; the other involves a version of the Vietoris–Rips complex, and builds on work of Chung–Martínez–Szakács.

Surface subgroups for cocompact lattices of isometries of H2n$\mathbb {H}^{2n}$

Abstract We prove the existence of surface subgroups within any cocompact lattice Γ$\Gamma$ in SO(2n,1)$\mathrm{SO}(2n,1)$ for n⩾2$n\geqslant 2$. This result addresses the cases missing from the work of Hamenstädt in 2015, who constructed surface subgroups in cocompact lattices for all other rank‐1 simple Lie groups of noncompact type.

Localization sequences for logarithmic topological cyclic homology

Abstract We introduce the notion of an Ek$\mathbb {E}_k$‐ring with prelogarithmic structure, define logarithmic topological Hochschild homology and logarithmic topological cyclic homology in this context, and establish localization sequences for these theories.
