Evolutionary radiation of large‐bodied gorgonopsians from the lower Abrahamskraal formation of South Africa

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The middle Permian represents a critical interval in therapsid evolution, when gorgonopsians emerged as some of the first specialized apex predators within terrestrial ecosystems. Despite their significance, the early diversification of Gorgonopsia in Gondwana remains poorly understood due to scarcity and fragmentary material.

Study on the Deformation and Stability of Surrounding Rock

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
To rely on nuclear power plant water tunnel project, through the numerical simulation methods, we analysized the extent of rock deformation and stability of the process of excavation and supporting to reveal the deformation near the working face of rock tunnel. The research results show: When carrying out tunnel excavation, the plastic deformation zone ...

Deformation characteristics of surrounding rock of broken and soft rock roadway

Mining Science and Technology (China), 2009
Abstract A similar material model and a numerical simulation were constructed and are described herein. The deformation and failure of surrounding rock of broken and soft roadway are studied by using these models. The deformation of the roof and floor, the relative deformation of the two sides and the deformation of the deep surrounding rock are ...

Chemical Variations in a Granitic Pluton and Its Surrounding Rocks

Science, 1964
New techniques of x-ray fluorescence spectrography have provided, for the first time, abundant data regarding chemical variability of granitic rocks on different scales. The results suggest that current designs of sampling plans for trend surface analysis should be modified; in particular several specimens, preferably drill-cores, may be required at ...
