Signet ring cell percentage in poorly cohesive gastric cancer patients: A potential novel predictor of survival

European Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2022
Signet ring cells (SRC) are widely acknowledged as a prognostically unfavorable histotype amongst poorly cohesive gastric cancer. In this study we evaluated the impact of SRC percentage on the clinical, pathological and prognostic features of these tumors according to the classification by the European Chapter of the IGCA.We retrospectively reviewed ...

The host inflammatory responses, tumor stroma percentage, and survival in colorectal cancer.

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2014
549 Background: The role of host inflammatory responses in determining colorectal cancer (CRC) outcome is increasingly recognised. In particular, a marked local inflammatory response is associated with improved survival. However, determinants of this response are not clear. A plausible factor in the density, location and type of the inflammatory cell

High Survival and Percentages of Giraffe Calves Signal Areas in Need of Protection

2023
We surveyed endangered Masai giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis tippelskirchi) at Oloirien Group Ranch (OGR) and Oloisukut Conservancy (OC) in Kenya to determine their conservation potential. Here, Maasai settlements, livestock, and predator control result in lion densities less than half that of adjacent protected areas.

Percentage Tumor Necrosis Following Chemotherapy in Neuroblastoma Correlates withMYCNStatus but not Survival

Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, 2011
The percentage of chemotherapy-induced necrosis in primary tumors corresponds with outcome in several childhood malignancies, including high-risk metastatic diseases. In this retrospective pilot study, the authors assessed the importance of postchemotherapy necrosis in high-risk neuroblastoma with a histological and case notes review of surgically ...

High T cell percentage predicts improved overall survival in de novo Acute Myeloid Leukemia

The Journal of Immunology, 2019
Abstract Intro Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is associated with defects in innate and adaptive immunity leading to immune evasion and leukemia survival. Given the important connection between the immune system and AML, our group sought to understand the prognostic significance of immune subsets in the ...

Length of Survival and Lymphocyte Percentage in Women with Mammary Cancer as a Function of Psychotherapy

Psychological Reports, 1989
50 patients suffering from terminal mammary cancer and visceral metastases received chemotherapy, and in addition half of them received psychotherapy, while half did not. A lymphocyte count was undertaken seven times in all, once before initiation of chemotherapy, the others after six applications of the therapy.

Percentage of sarcomatoid component as a prognostic indicator for survival in sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma.

Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2015
499 Background: Renal cell carcinoma with sarcomatoid component (sRCC) is characterized by the microscopic spectrum of spindle cells within a background of RCC. The presence of sarcomatoid elements is associated with higher stage of presentation and decreased patient survival.

INFLUENCES OF CALCIUM AND MAGNESIUM IONS ON EMBRYO SURVIVAL, PERCENTAGE HATCHING AND LARVAL SURVIVAL OF DOLPHIN FISH Coryphaena hippurus L.

Journal of the World Mariculture Society, 1985
ABSTRACTFive kinds of artificial seawater with similar salinity, pH and osmolarity were prepared with different concentrations of calcium and magnesium ions. The five seawaters in this study are: complete seawater, calcium‐free seawater, half calcium‐free seawater, magnesium‐free seawater, and half magnesium‐free seawater.Dolphin fish (Coryphaena ...
