Splicing factor ESRP1 controls ER-positive breast cancer by altering metabolic pathways [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The epithelial splicing regulatory proteins 1 and 2 (ESRP1 and ESRP2) control the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) splicing program in cancer. However, their role in breast cancer recurrence is unclear. In this study, we report that high levels

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

A novel necroptosis signature for predicting survival in lung adenocarcinoma.

open access: yesBMC medical genomics, 2023
To explore the necroptosis-related genes (NRGs) signature and its predictive values in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD).The training cohort consisted of tumor samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas, and the validation set comprised data from the Gene Expression Omnibus. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were applied to identify the prognostic

A novel lncRNA-focus expression signature for survival prediction in endometrial carcinoma

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2018
Background Endometrial cancer (UCEC) is a complex malignant tumor characterized by both genetic level and clinical trial. Patients with UCEC exhibit the similar clinical features, however, they have distinct outcomes due to molecular heterogeneity.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Identification of Potential Prognostic Long Non-Coding RNA Biomarkers for Predicting Survival in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2018
Background/Aims: The aim of the current study was to identify potential prognostic long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) biomarkers for predicting survival in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) dataset and ...

Identification of an alternative splicing signature as an independent factor in colon cancer

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2020
Background Colon cancer is a common malignant tumor with a poor prognosis. Abnormal alternative splicing (AS) events played a part in the occurrence and metastasis of the tumor.
