Mitotic activity of survivin is regulated by acetylation at K129 [PDF]
Survivin is a cancer-associated protein regulated by multiple factors, including acetylation at K129 within its C-terminal alpha-helical tail. Acetylation of survivin is being pursued as a potential prognostic marker in breast cancer.

Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Celecoxib in breast cancer prevention and therapy. [PDF]
Breast cancer has a high incidence worldwide. The results of substantial studis reveal that inflammation plays an important role in the initiation, development, and aggressiveness of many malignancies. The use of celecoxib, a novel NSAID, is repetitively

ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanoscale membrane‐bound vesicles released by any cell type under both physiological and pathological conditions. They carry a wide array of bioactive molecules, including microRNAs (miRNAs), lipids, proteins and other small biomolecules, and therefore play a key role in intercellular communication by ...

Polyploid superficial cells that maintain the urothelial barrier are produced via incomplete cytokinesis and endoreplication [PDF]
Summary: The urothelium is an epithelia barrier lined by a luminal layer of binucleated, octoploid, superficial cells. Superficial cells are critical for production and transport of uroplakins, a family of proteins that assemble into a waterproof ...

ABSTRACT Breast cancer remains a leading cause of cancer‐related mortality among women globally. Vietnamese women experience unique challenges, including sociocultural, linguistic, and systemic barriers, contributing to disparities in screening utilization, late‐stage diagnoses, and treatment outcomes.

Prospects for non-immunological molecular therapeutics in melanoma [PDF]
In 2006 there were 60,000 new cases of cutaneous melanoma in the European Union and 13,000 deaths (www.europeancancerleagues.org). Currently available systemic treatment options for metastatic melanoma, including both cytotoxic and immunologic therapies,

Survivin--a universal tumor antigen.
Tumor-associated antigens recognized by cellular effectors of the immune system are potential targets for antigen-specific cancer immunotherapy. These antigens are classified as tissue (melanocyte)-specific proteins, cancer-testis antigens (proteins expressed in normal testis and various cancers), tumor-specific peptides derived from mutations in tumor
