Suspended sediment concentration forecast based on CEEMDAN-GRU model

, 2020
Reasonable prediction of suspended sediment concentration is of great significance for river regulation and water conservancy project scheduling in upper and middle reaches.

Comparison of measured suspended sediment concentrations with suspended sediment concentrations estimated from Landsat MSS data

International Journal of Remote Sensing, 1988
Abstract Landsat multispectral scanner (MSS) data for 27 dates between January 1983 and June 1985 for Moon Lake in Coahoma County, Mississippi, were analysed to determine if Landsat MSS digital data could be used to estimate suspended sediment concentrations in the surface waters of a small agricultural lake.

Suspended sediment concentrations under waves

Coastal Engineering, 1986
Abstract A predictive formula is derived for calculation of the magnitude of time-averaged suspended sediment concentrations under waves. By taking into account the effect of flow contraction near ripple crests, the formula applies equally well for rippled beds and sheet flow conditions.

Artificial neural network simulation for prediction of suspended sediment concentration in the River Ramganga, Ganges Basin, India

International Journal of Sediment Research, 2019
The relation between the water discharge (Q) and suspended sediment concentration (SSC) of the River Ramganga at Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, in the Himalayas, has been modeled using Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs).

Suspended sediment concentrations in the Tamar estuary

Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science, 2003
Abstract Suspended sediment concentrations, obtained from the lower Tamar estuary in South West England using optical back scatter sensors, showed a depth-averaged background concentration of 0.02 kg m−3 throughout most of the spring–neap cycle. On spring tides the depth-averaged concentration increased to 0.25–0.40 kg m−3 either side of low water ...

Suspended Sediment Concentration Profiles

Applied Mechanics Reviews, 1995
An evaluation is given of the methods of modeling concentration profiles of suspended non-cohesive sediments in natural streams and under waves. The bottom boundary condition and the distribution models are treated separately. The merits of the simple concentration boundary condition, which has been favored by practice, are compared to those of the ...

Measurements of coastal suspended sediment concentrations

Coastal Engineering, 1983
Abstract Three of the methods available for measurement of suspended sediment concentration were chosen and tested in natural conditions. The equipment included sand traps, a radioisotopic probe and a long-action sampler (bathometer). The working conditions of the equipment were studied and the reliability of data obtained was analyzed.

Acoustic estimation of suspended sediment concentration

Science in China Series A: Mathematics, 2001
In this paper, the acoustic estimation of suspended sediment concentration is discussed and two estimation methods of suspended sediment concentration are presented. The first method is curve fitting method, in which, according to the acoustic backscattering theory we assume that the fitting factor K1 (r) between the concentration M(r) obtained by ...

Effect of Suspended-Sediment Concentration on Nitrification in River Water: Importance of Suspended Sediment−Water Interface

Environmental Science & Technology, 2009
High suspended sediment (SPS) concentrations exist in many Asian river systems. In this research, the effects of SPS concentration on nitrification in river water systems were studied. With orwithout introducing ammonium-oxidizing bacteria isolated from the water and sediment samples of the Yellow River, the microbially mediated nitrification rate ...
