Numerical simulation of flotation bubble motion in a three-phase inner suspension fluid

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2016
To find the motion law and optimum size of floatation bubbles in a three-phase flow, the Eulerian model is used to simulate the motion process of bubbles with different initial diameters in pulps of different concentrations.

Analysis of the Yielding Behavior of Electrorheological Suspensions by Controlled Shear Stress Experiments

open access: yesApplied Rheology, 2006
The yielding behavior of two model electrorheological suspensions of uncoated silica particles and silica coated with polyaniline base in silicone oil using controlled shear rate and controlled shear stress experiments has been analyzed.

The suspensions scandal

open access: yesJournal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 2003
The process by which senior hospital doctors are disciplined within the National Health Service is analysed. The mechanisms used are discussed and a number of faults are identified. Many of these faults give an unfair advantage to management and are contrary to the rules of 'Natural Justice'.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

A Primer on CFD-DEM for Polymer-Filled Suspensions

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
This work reports on an evaluation of the computational fluid dynamics–discrete element method (CFD-DEM) numerical approach to study the behavior of polymer-filled suspensions in a parallel-plate rheometer. For this purpose, an open-source CFD-DEM solver

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Study on the vibration isolation characteristics of an anti-resonant hydropneumatic suspension

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2018
A novel anti-resonant hydropneumatic suspension system was presented in this study. The mathematical model of the presented suspension system was derived and the theoretical analysis was carried out.
