Study on the effects of traffic noise and spring water sound at different sound pressure levels on brain dynamic activity

open access: yesScientific Reports
The correlation between sound and psychophysiological health is complex. This study explores effects of various sound pressure levels (SPLs) on psychophysiological responses, utilizing dynamic features of neural activity.

The Core-Periphery Structure in the Yangtze River Delta: An Enterprise Linkage Perspective, 1978–2019

open access: yesComplexity, 2021
Metropolitan areas are important for engaging in fierce global competition. Cities in metropolitan areas in China are generally characterized by a core-periphery structure. The Yangtze River Delta metropolitan area (YRD) is a national strategic region in

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Sustainable Earthen Architecture [PDF]

open access: yesPhD Research Sympozium 2018, 2018
Sustainable architecture must meet environmental, sociocultural and economic criteria. Based on analysis and interpretation, this paper explores to what extent earthen building material meets these categories. Earth is a traditional, environmentally friendly, recyclable material that has a positive effect on human health.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Impact of Thermal Mass, Window Performance, and Window–Wall Ratio on Indoor Thermal Dynamics in Public Buildings

open access: yesBuildings
Thermal comfort in public buildings is crucial for occupant well-being and energy efficiency. This study employs TRNSYS software to simulate the effects of thermal mass, window performance, and window–wall ratio (WWR) on summer thermal comfort.
