Breeding a sustainable future for milk production

open access: yesnpj Sustainable Agriculture
Selective breeding in livestock has contributed to a remarkable increase in farm productivity and a reduction in carbon footprint in recent decades. This study evaluated selective breeding for more sustainable dairy cows based on both carbon (carbon ...

Soil quality index assessment for conventional, organic and INM based rice cropping systems using key indicators as influenced by imbalanced fertilization

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
IntroductionImbalanced fertilization in rice ecosystems disrupts nutrient equilibrium between soil replenishment and crop uptake, leading to reduced yield and soil degradation.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

The Impact of Nano Processed Cattle Manure Combinations on the Yield and Quality Changes of Cotton

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Sciences
Sustainable agriculture necessitates the exploration of organic fertilizers to promote both crop productivity and soil health. The objective of this two-year study was to evaluate the effects of different combinations of processed cattle manure on the ...

ENERGY EFFICIENCY AND LIFE CYCLE ANALYSIS OF ORGANIC AND CONVENTIONAL OLIVE GROVES IN THE MESSARA VALLEY, CRETE, GREECE. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Environmental Impacts of agricultural activities have to be assessed in order to address cultural practices and the type of farming that are best suited to avoid the trade-off between the Ecology and the Economy. Furthermore, this study, comparing the

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
