Bedside ultrasound to assess acute central venous pressure change during treatment of decompensated heart failure

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cardiology: Heart & Vasculature, 2022
Background: Accurate volume status assessment is crucial for the treatment of acute decompensated heart failure (ADHF). Volume status assessment by physical exam is often inaccurate, necessitating invasive measurement with right heart catheterization ...

Impact of Higher Versus Lower Blood Pressure Targets on Pulmonary Vascular Hemodynamics During Intensive Care After Out‐of‐Hospital Cardiac Arrest

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 7, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Hemodynamic management after out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is critical, yet the impact of vasopressor‐driven mean arterial pressure (MAP) targets on pulmonary circulation and right ventricular (RV) function remains unclear.

Bench-to-bedside review: The importance of the precision of the reference technique in method comparison studies - with specific reference to the measurement of cardiac output.

open access: yes, 2009
Bland-Altman analysis is used for assessing agreement between two measurements of the same clinical variable. In the field of cardiac output monitoring, its results, in terms of bias and limits of agreement, are often difficult to interpret, leading ...

Larger pulmonary artery to ascending aorta ratios are associated with decreased survival of patients undergoing pulmonary endarterectomyCentral MessagePerspective

open access: yesJTCVS Open, 2022
Objectives: The ratio of pulmonary artery (PA) and ascending aorta (AA) diameters has recently been shown to be a useful indicator for disease severity and predictor of outcome in patients with pulmonary hypertension and heart failure.

Prediction of the Time of Cardiac Function Normalization after Surgery under Extracorporeal Circulation

open access: yesОбщая реаниматология, 2007
Objective: to study the prognostic value and correlations of hemodynamic parameters during operations under extracorporeal circulation (EC), as well as the possibilities of mathematically predicting the time that takes to recover the normal function of ...

Animal models of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, Volume 9, Issue 5, Page 886-897, May 2026.
Current animal models of CTEPH. Created using BioRender.com. Abstract Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is a rare, yet life‐threatening disorder characterized by persistent pulmonary vascular obstruction and elevated pulmonary artery pressure, with progressive remodeling and subsequent right heart failure.

Magnetocardiography combined with machine learning for pulmonary hypertension detection and improved short‐term risk assessment

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, Volume 4, Issue 3, May 2026.
Magnetocardiography (MCG) enables non‐invasive mapping of cardiac magnetic fields. In this study, an MCG‐based machine learning model detects pulmonary hypertension with robust performance. Furthermore, MCG features may improve the accuracy of short‐term risk assessment.
