Molecular Engineering Mediated Interfacial Assembly as an Artificial Extracellular Matrix Remolds Bacteria With Enhanced Abiotic Resilience

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic artificial extracellular matrix is assembled directly on Pseudomonas fluorescens by co‐assembling amyloid‐like lysozyme and alginate at the cell surface. This conformal nanocoating acts as both a hydration buffer and a physiological priming layer, markedly enhancing desiccation tolerance, seed adhesion, storage stability, and biocontrol ...

Sward Structure Under Continuous and Rotation Grazing [PDF]

open access: yes
Sward structure under continuous (CG) and rotational (RG) grazing system was studied at an experimental pasture in the Jizerské hory mountains. Herbage mass and vertical distribution was assessed by cutting ten quadrats (0.1 x 0.5 m) and separated into ...

Frequency distribution of sward height of kikuyu ('Pennisetum clandestinum') grass pastures intensively grazed by dairy cows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Swards that are grazed continuously by cattle can become heterogeneous in structure, such that frequencies of height measurements have a skewed distribution.

A Brain‐Penetrant Nanobody Reveals GSK3β‐Driven Proline‐Directed Phosphorylation as a Master Regulator of Ischemic Neurodegeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A brain‐targeted nanoparticle enables delivery of a therapeutic nanobody (Nb.29E9) that inhibits pathogenic GSK3β signaling. This intervention restores AMPK/mTORC1/TGFβ homeostasis, attenuates neuroinflammation and oxidative stress, and promotes long‐term functional recovery after ischemic stroke.

The importance of sward architectural complexity in structuring predatory and phytophagous invertebrate assemblages

open access: yesEcological Entomology, 2007
Abstract 1. Although the importance of plant community assemblages in structuring invertebrate assemblages is well known, the role that architectural complexity plays is less well understood. In particular, direct empirical data for a range of invertebrate taxa showing how functional groups respond to plant ...

Interfacial Proton‐Relay Microenvironment Enables Self‐Driven Singlet Oxygen Generation under Neutral Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An interfacial proton‐relay microenvironment at MoS2‐CuCl heterostructures enables selective O2 activation to 1O2 under neutral conditions. Electron‐deficient sulfur sites mediate proton transfer to Cu‐bound O2, accelerating *OOH hydrogenation while suppressing O─O bond cleavage, achieving stable, efficient pollutant removal.

Relationship Between Sward Structure and Dietary Quality and Intake, in Cattle Grazing Humid Sour Grassveld in South AfricaP [PDF]

open access: yes
The relationship between sward structure, and dietary quality and intake was investigated for cattle grazing humid sour grassveld in south Africa. A 2-ha site was divided into 6 equal-sized blocks with; each block being managed to achieve a different ...

Sward lifting in compacted grassland : Contrasting effects on two different soils [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Soil compaction can affect the productivity of permanent grassland. The effectiveness of methods to alleviate compaction depends on compaction level and soil type.
