Modeling sediment transport in the swash zone: A review
Ocean Engineering, 2009A critical review of conceptual and mathematical models developed in recent decades on sediment transport in the swash zone is presented. Numerous studies of the hydrodynamics and sediment transport in the swash zone in recent years have pointed out the importance of swash processes in terms of science advancement and practical applications. Evidently,

Modelling and control of swash-plate dynamics
2008There are many new examples of applications of hydrostatic transmissions in the mobile scope. Beside the efficiency, the control ability and the fast response of the hydrostatic transmission are very important in modern applications. In this regard, a DC servomotor can be applied as an actuator of the variable displacement mechanism of smaller ...

The SWASH model for soliton splitting due to decreasing depth
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2014A solitary wave is a nonlinear wave that travels undisturbed in shape and velocity as a result of a balance between dispersion and nonlinearity. According to the inverse scattering theory of KdV, a solitary wave will split into N-soliton due to decreasing depth. This phenomenon is simulated using the non-hydrostatic model SWASH.

Boussinesq Modeling of Alongshore Swash Zone Currents
2004Abstract : The long-term goal of the study is to develop and integrate numerical models for the understanding and prediction of nearshore processes. The focus of the project is to develop the capability of modeling alongshore swash currents under field conditions based on Boussinesq-type formulations and field observations.

Analytical Modeling and Simulation of a Swash Plate Pump/Motor
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2008<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper presents a computer generated model of a hydraulic circuit that is typically seen in hybrid hydraulic vehicles (HHV's). HHV's have shown considerable potential for increasing fuel economy and decreasing emissions for mid-size and commercial trucks that exhibit urban driving habits. The aim of the present

Lagrangian modelling of suspended sediment in the swash zone
2009A numerical model is presented to simulate transport and beach morphology in the swash zone. The model resolves the non-linear shallow water equations in an Eulerian framework and then solves the advection-diffusion equation for turbulence and suspended sediment in a Lagrangian framework.

Swash Zone Dynamics: Modeling and Data Analysis
2003Abstract : The goals of the work are to develop improved predictive capability for non-linear time-dependent dynamics in the swash zone. The work involves numerical computations, comparison with field and laboratory results, and theoretical analysis. The focus of the project is to quantify net onshore-offshore swash zone properties from Computational ...

Measurement and modelling of hydrodynamics at the surf-swash boundary
2011Swash zone boundary conditions are investigated using field observations of the inner surf zone and the swash zone for a range of micro-tidal, predominantly swell-dominated, sandy beaches. The boundary conditions are characterized in terms of a terminal bore height and the asymmetry between uprush and backwash flows.
