ChemSusChemAlmost pure cellulose was extracted from soybean hulls by microwave‐assisted alkaline treatment (MW‐NaOH) and characterized. The microwave‐assisted subcritical water extraction (MASWE) of waste biomass falls within the circular economy approach, promotes sustainability, and reduces both treatment times and the use of harsh chemicals.
