Characterization of ion track morphology formed by swift heavy ion irradiation in silicon oxynitride films [PDF]
Amorphous silicon oxynitride (SiOxNy) possess interesting optical and mechanical properties. Here, we present direct evidence for the formation of ion tracks in 1 µm thick silicon oxynitride of different stoichiometries.

Swift heavy ion tracks in SiTiO3 [PDF]

Refractive index engineering through swift heavy ion irradiation of LiNbO3 crystal towards improved light guidance. [PDF]
Swift heavy ion irradiation has been widely used to modify refractive indices of optical materials for waveguide fabrication. In this work, we propose refractive index engineering by swift heavy ion (Ar) irradiation via electronic energy deposition to ...

High-Energy Heavy Ion Tracks in Nanocrystalline Silicon Nitride
At present, silicon nitride is the only nitride ceramic in which latent ion tracks resulting from swift heavy ion irradiation have been observed. Data related to the effects of SHIs on the nanocrystalline form of Si3N4 are sparse.

Modification of 2D-Materials by Swift Heavy Ion Irradiation
Since the isolation of graphene in 2004, two-dimensional crystals have attracted a lot of attention in a variety of scientific fields. Thus, Andre Geim and Kostya Novoselov were honoured with the Nobel Prize in 2010 for their findings. Ten years later, the interest in materials like graphene and single layer MoS2 is still growing.
