A Comparison of Iowa Swine Production with Its Competition [PDF]
There has been much discussion recently about changes occurring in the swine industry. The purpose of this study is to assess the competitive position of Iowa pork producers.

Abstract This paper derives a firm‐level threshold, the Herfindahl Neutral Point, from the standard concentration index used in merger review. At this threshold, a marginal expansion leaves the index unchanged. Firms below the threshold reduce concentration when they expand; firms above it increase concentration.

Porcine kidney xenotransplantation: From primate models to clinical reality
In the face of a critical shortage of human donor kidneys for end‐stage renal disease patients, porcine kidney xenotransplantation has emerged as a viable solution. This field has navigated major hurdles, including immune rejection, physiological incompatibilities, potential biomechanical differences and the risk of cross‐species infection. To overcome

Biofilms can be problematic to swine drinking water systems as they can harbor pathogens, decrease water quality, and may contribute to antimicrobial treatment failure. Water-administered antimicrobials are used for disease treatment in swine populations,

Vitamin requirements of swine (1993) [PDF]
Vitamins are essential nutrients for swine. The trend toward complete confinement swine production, however, has focused more attention on the need to supplement practical rations with adequate dietary sources of vitamins.

This narrative review discusses animal models of exosome‐based myocardial infarction treatments. Emerging techniques aim to improve exosome stability, targeting, and bioavailability for MI treatment as drug delivery vehicles and regenerative mediators that promote myocardial regeneration. Abstract Exosomes have emerged as promising therapeutic carriers,

Conserving genetic material and even increasing genetic diversity is critical. To conduct the conservation of wild boar germplasm resources, we have successfully obtained healthy cloned wild boars for the first time using interspecies somatic cell nuclear transfer and established transgene‐free iPSCs that can be used to conduct iterative rounds of gene
