Electrical fusion of protoplasts was used to produce somatic hybrids between Mexican lime (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle) and Java feroniella (Feroniella lucida (Sceff.) Swingle) or tabog (Swinglea glutinosa (Blanco) Men.). The fusion efficiency (rates of formation of binuclear heterokaryons) were around 15%.
