The Potential of Secondary Metabolites in Medicinal Plants as Anti–Quorum Sensing in Biofilms: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The formation of biofilms occurs due to a group of bacteria gathering together. The increasing of cell density will stimulate chemical signals for bacteria to communicate through quorum sensing system. Quorum sensing plays a role for competition, virulence, resistance, and pathogenesis. Quorum sensing produces signaling response called as autoinducers.

Storage Techniques of Recalcitrant Seeds: Mesua ferrea L. and Swinglea glutinosa (Blanco) Merr.

open access: yesJurnal Perbenihan Tanaman Hutan, 2019
Mesua ferrea L. and Swinglea glutinosa (Blanco) Merr. are two species of plants with recalcitrant seed character. Recalcitrant seed have problem with storage, because they cannot stand being stored for long periods of time. S torage method becomes indispensable in recalcitrant seeds conservation. The storage methods were using 3 treatments,

Regeneration of Intergeneric Somatic Hybrids by Electrical Fusion between Citrus and Its Wild Relatives: Mexican Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) and Java Feroniella (Feroniella lucida) or Tabog (Swinglea glutinosa).

open access: yesEngei Gakkai zasshi, 1992
Electrical fusion of protoplasts was used to produce somatic hybrids between Mexican lime (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle) and Java feroniella (Feroniella lucida (Sceff.) Swingle) or tabog (Swinglea glutinosa (Blanco) Men.). The fusion efficiency (rates of formation of binuclear heterokaryons) were around 15%.
