Influence of gate tunneling currents on switched capacitor integrators [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Radio Science, 2009
In order to achieve a higher level of integration in modern VLSI systems, not only the lateral geometrical dimensions have to be scaled. Lowering the supply voltage also requires scaling down the oxide thickness of the transistors.

Analog Neural Programmable Optimizers in CMOS VLSI Technologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
A 3-μm CMOS IC is presented demonstrating the concept of an analog neural system for constrained optimization. A serial time-multiplexed general-purpose architecture is introduced for the real-time solution of this kind of problem in MOS VLSI.

SNDR sensitivity analysis for cascaded ΣΔ modulators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Cascade, single and multi-bit, ΣΔ architectures provide stable, high order quantization noise shaping used in high resolution A/D conversion. One major disadvantage of cascaded ΣΔ topologies is the extreme SNDR sensitivity to gain mismatch between the ...

MOS switched capacitor integrator eliminating operational amplifiers

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1981
The letter describes a novel switched capacitor differential integrator circuit, useful for filtering and analogue/digital conversion applications. It uses a bucket-brigade type charge transfer to eliminate operational amplifiers. This results in reduced chip area, static power and noise.

Three Realizations and Comparison of Hardware for Piezoresistive Tactile Sensors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Tactile sensors are basically arrays of force sensors that are intended to emulate the skin in applications such as assistive robotics. Local electronics are usually implemented to reduce errors and interference caused by long wires.

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.
