Two-channel switched reluctance starter/generator results

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 1998
Measured data and simulation results for a two channel experimental switched reluctance motor (SRM) based aircraft engine starter/generator system is presented. The two channels of the system provide power to two separate and independent loads. The results presented here document the performance capability of this system from load step response to ...

DSP based switched reluctance motor/generator

2010 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2010
This article present a switched reluctance motor/generator drive. The half-bridge electronic converter topology is used to attain motor operation mode. To change from motor operational mode to generation mode the electronic converter structure is strategically modified through a relay switch, allowing the flux of power go to the load.

Control system of switched reluctance generator

2017 IEEE Conference of Russian Young Researchers in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EIConRus), 2017
In this paper, a three-phase 12/8 switched reluctance generator is taken as the study object and a control system based on that generator is designed. In that system, the digital signal controller applied for is dsPIC30F6010, and power converter circuit adopt asymmetric half-bridge topology, and the main switches use power MOSFET.

A switched reluctance variable speed generator

CCECE 2003 - Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering. Toward a Caring and Humane Technology (Cat. No.03CH37436), 2004
The paper presents the switched reluctance variable speed generator system. The structure of the switched reluctance generator, the rotor position detector, the exciting power converter and the controller are given. The mathematical models of the system are also given. Two control strategies of the constant-power output control with the constant output

Sensorless Switched Reluctance Starter/Generator Performance

IEEE Industry Applications Magazine, 1997
This article compares the performance of a high speed switched reluctance starter/generator (SR S/G) system when operating with a resolver to that when operating resolverless, or sensorless. The SR SIG system is a 270 Vdc system that performs two primary functions.

Controlled self-excited switched reluctance generator

2013 International Electric Machines & Drives Conference, 2013
This paper deals with switched reluctance generators. Two aspects of operation are investigated: self excitation and control of terminal generated voltage. Self excitation is attractive as it does not require external energy sources. Investigations in a self excited generator ask for magnetic saturation of iron core to be considered and that is ...

Switched reluctance generators and their control

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2002
This paper discusses how the switched reluctance generator (SRG) converts energy as directed by a controller. Beginning with a review of the electromechanics of generation, the paper identifies the implications of the energy conversion process on how the SRG is controlled.

Compensation power generation for linear switched reluctance generators

2016 International Symposium on Electrical Engineering (ISEE), 2016
Since the wave energy power generation has a low voltage output and poor stability in low speed, the scheme of a compensation power generation scheme of two bilateral asymmetric linear switched reluctance generators (BALSRG) is proposed. The mathematic model of the BALSRG is derived and machine characteristics are investigated.

Fault analysis and excitation requirements for switched reluctance generators

IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference. IEMDC'99. Proceedings (Cat. No.99EX272), 2002
Switched reluctance machines are a prime candidate for aerospace starter/generators and various automotive applications. The choice of SRM for a starter/generator application is driven largely by the perceived reliability and fault tolerance of the machine and its electronics.

Switched reluctance generators for wind energy applications

Proceedings of PESC '95 - Power Electronics Specialist Conference, 2002
The switched reluctance machine has very good characteristics in term of efficiency, control simplicity and robustness. The rotor is made of solid iron with no electrical excitation and this results in considerable robustness and reliability. The machine is cost competitive with the cage induction motor, has superior efficiency to it and its power ...
