Vibration modes and acoustic noise in a four-phase switched reluctance motor [PDF]
Acoustic noise in the switched reluctance motor (SRM) is caused primarily by the deformation of the stator lamination stack. Acoustic noise is most severe when the periodic excitation of the SRM phases excites a natural vibration mode of the stack.

Linear Hybrid Reluctance Motor with High Density Force
Linear switched reluctance motors are a focus of study for many applications because of their simple and sturdy electromagnetic structure, despite their lower thrust force density when compared with linear permanent magnet synchronous motors.

Torque prediction using the flux-MMF diagram in AC, DC, and reluctance motors [PDF]
This paper uses the flux-MMF diagram to compare and contrast the torque production mechanism in seven common types of electric motor. The flux-MMF diagram is a generalized version of the flux-linkage versus current (ψ-i) diagram for switched-reluctance ...

Switched reluctance motor design for electric vehicles based on harmonics and back EMF analysis
Permanent magnet synchronous motors are widely accepted in automotive applications. The high torque density, high rotational speed with maximum efficiency in electric vehicle applications is technically challenging for motor design.

Nonlinear H-infinity control for switched reluctance machines
The article proposes a nonlinear H-infinity control method for switched reluctance machines. The dynamic model of the switched reluctance machine undergoes approximate linearization round local operating points which are redefined at each iteration of ...
