Digital Twin of an Electrical Insulation System: Data Communication, Predictive Models and Health Condition

open access: yesDigital Twins and Applications, Volume 3, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
Life and reliability models, potentially able to account for any type of stress, even time varying, are developed and their integration in a digital twin is discussed. Algorithms for the dynamic assessment of insulation health condition through diagnostic testing or monitoring, are developed.

Accurate Harmonic Voltage Measurement Based on Series Resistive‐Capacitive Divider for Gas‐Insulated Switchgear

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement &Technology, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
A series resistive‐capacitive divider for harmonic voltage measurement of gas‐insulated switchgear was studied. It can step down the voltage while amplifying the proportion of harmonics in the total sensed voltage, thereby increasing the significant figure for the measurement and enabling the accurate measurement of high‐order, low‐amplitude harmonics.

Prediction of Severe Accident Progression Using Machine Learning With Data‐Driven Surrogate Modeling as Operator Support Tool

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Severe accidents in nuclear power plants (NPPs) pose critical challenges due to heightened environmental harshness that can impair instrumentation functionality. This impairment leads to “blind conditions,” where operators lack essential thermal‐hydraulic data, hindering decision‐making during pivotal moments, as exemplified by the Fukushima Daiichi ...

Building Climate‐Resilient Healthcare in Tanzania: Strengthening Infrastructure, Sustainability and Policy for Inclusive Health Security

open access: yesClimate Resilience and Sustainability, Volume 4, Issue 2, December 2025.
This study assesses Tanzania's healthcare infrastructure vulnerability to climate change, using mixed methods to evaluate retrofitting, WASH, renewable energy and governance frameworks. Retrofitted facilities showed 50%–80% fewer climate‐related disruptions, with retrofitting being 60% more cost‐effective than rebuilding. Findings highlight urban–rural

Detection of Transient Decomposition Products of CF3SO2F and C4F7N via OES Under Spark and Glow Discharges

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 6, Page 1582-1592, December 2025.
ABSTRACT The optical emission spectra (OES) reflect the presence of excited states in the gaseous discharge, which are directly linked to the decomposition characteristics of insulating gases. In this study, a pin/rod–plate discharge reactor driven by either a high‐voltage direct current (DC) generator or a pulsed generator was developed to establish ...

Partial Discharge Detection Method of Fibre‐Composed HVDC Submarine Cable Based on φ‐OTDR and Hilbert Demodulation

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 6, Page 1380-1389, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Partial discharge (PD) is the indicator of the insulation defect in cables. However, the pulse current method, which is widely adopted in land cables, cannot obtain PD signals of high‐voltage direct current (HVDC) submarine cables due to attenuation and installation position.
