Adaptive Behavior and Strategy Switching [PDF]
Using the Agent-based Computational Finance (ACF) method, we build an artificial stock market with heterogeneous adaptive investors and investigate the evolutionary and interacting relationship between rational investors and irrational investors. We find that with strategy switching, there is a symbiosis among the three kinds of investors in the ACF ...

Modeling Optimal Switching Behavior
Proceedings of the 2016 ACM on Conference on Human Information Interaction and Retrieval, 2016Recently developed retrieval effectiveness measures have incorporated models of user behavior, but have limited themselves to predicting user performance over a single query and response. Accurate prediction of user performance with search systems must incorporate a means to model how users switch between different information sources.

Resistive Switching Behavior in Ferroelectric Heterostructures
Small, 2019AbstractResistive random‐access memory (RRAM) is a promising candidate for next‐generation nonvolatile random‐access memory protocols. The information storage in RRAM is realized by the resistive switching (RS) effect. The RS behavior of ferroelectric heterostructures is mainly controlled by polarization‐dominated and defect‐dominated mechanisms. Under

Transient Switching Behavior in Silicon MOSFET RF Switches
2008 IEEE Topical Meeting on Silicon Monolithic Integrated Circuits in RF Systems, 2008Silicon MOS devices are seeing increased use in highly integrated RFICs. This paper shows the results of an investigation of the impact of the external gate bias resistance as well as the distributed RC gate effect on switching speed in these devices. A model is presented with both simulations and measured data used to verify the model.

Switching behavior of a magnetically controlled superconducting switch
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1992The authors describe experimental and theoretical considerations on the switching behavior of a magnetically controlled superconducting switch. The experimental superconducting switch used in the experiments is composed of a superconducting gate wire (NbZr/CuNi) and a superconducting field coil (NbTi/CuNi).

Mechanisms of behavioral switching
Journal of Comparative Physiology A, 2004No animal performs only one behavior, so nervous systems must have ways to switch between different behaviors. In this issue of Journal of Comparative Physiology A, several papers discuss how nervous systems achieve this ordered switching between behaviors, from short-term motor control problems, to medium-term decision making based on past experience,

Conditioning task switching behavior
Cognition, 2017Most reward studies focus on the reinforcement of simple tasks or stimulus-response rules. However, recent theories (re)emphasized that cognitive control representations should adhere to the same reinforcement learning principles as do more basic stimulus and response representations.
