Code Convertor-Binary to Uniform Minimal Switching Representation (UMSR)
2021 5th International Conference on Trends in Electronics and Informatics (ICOEI), 2021The low-power arithmetic design has become a very important aspect for recent compact electronic gadgets. The need to minimize dynamic power dissipation is vital for combinational circuits. Switching activity is a vital reason for the dissipation of power in combinational circuits, which includes activities like spurious pulses, called glitches ...

Modified switched power convertor with zero ripple
Proceedings of the 32nd Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2003A modified power conversion scheme suitable for switched mode converters which addresses the problem of output ripple without incurring an appreciable loss of efficiency is presented. An analog controlled current source is used to inject a current into the load which is equal and opposite to the ripple current due to the switching circuit.

Power convertor circuits for switched reluctance motors with the minimum number of switches
IEE Proceedings B Electric Power Applications, 1990The phase windings of a doubly salient switched reluctance motor are fed with unipolar pulses of current from a suitable power convertor to control the speed and torque of the motor. A new range of power convertor circuits for the switched reluctance motor is proposed in this paper.

Logarithmic and exponential switched-capacitor convertors and some of their applications
IEE Proceedings G (Electronic Circuits and Systems), 1988The paper is devoted to the design of nonlinear analogue CMOS switched-capacitor (SC) circuits which realise logarithmic and/or exponential transfer characteristics. Some new circuit arrangements for SC logarithmic exponential convertors and exponential time-function generators are presented.

Flexible capacitor and switch generators for automatic synthesis of data convertors
1991 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 1991Two flexible and technology-independent module generators providing very compact and high performance realizations of binary weighted capacitor (BWC) and scaled switch (SS) arrays have been implemented. These generators are general enough to become a powerful tool in layout compilers for binary-weighted-capacitors-based analog-to-digital converters ...

On the reduction of component count in switched capacitor DC/DC convertors
PESC97. Record 28th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference. Formerly Power Conditioning Specialists Conference 1970-71. Power Processing and Electronic Specialists Conference 1972, 2002Conventional switched capacitor power convertors are unsuitable for many practical applications because of their large component count. A new modified topology is proposed for step-down DC/DC switched capacitor power convertors using a multistage structure of switches and capacitors.

Fast Digital to Analog Convertor using Spatial Wave Switched FETs
International Journal of High Speed Electronics and Systems, 2014In this paper, we are presenting fast digital to analog convertor designs using Spatial Waveform Switched FETs (SWSFET). SWSFET was introduced by Jain et.al. These FETs have multiple channels stacked vertically. The Carrier wavefunction switches from one channel to another with the application of different gate voltages.

Educational workbench for testing the control techniques of switched DC/DC convertors
Proceedings of the 1993 Power Electronics Congress (Congreso Internacional de Electronica de Polentia), 2002In this paper an educational workbench is presented. Its purpose is to develop several practice exercises about DC-to-DC converter control. This system allows one to analyze most of control techniques of nonresonant switched converters. Modular and trainer-oriented design and intrinsic security have been the most important points during the workbench ...

Analytical minimal loss design of transformers for high frequency switch mode convertors
Proceedings of 1995 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition - APEC'95, 1995The transformer design philosophy presented is based on fundamental principles and facilitates the design of close to optimum transformers, without significant iteration. No new theoretical material is presented, but rather an analytical procedure that accords priority to minimising losses. The power transfer capacity of a transformer is constrained by

Zero-voltage-switching three-phase single-stagepower factor correction convertor
IEE Proceedings - Electric Power Applications, 1997As an alternative to two-stage cascaded AC/DC power convertors, the paper presents a zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) single-state three phase rectifier with input/output isolation. The proposed rectifier contains five active devices driven by a simple PWM controller and operates in the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) for the input power factor ...
