Application of natural commutation technique to an improved cycloconverter type high-frequency link inverter with center-tapped transformer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This thesis presents a new isolated cycloconverter type high frequency (HF) link dc to ac power converter (inverter) that consists of three arms of bidirectional switches at transformer secondary.

Optimization Platform to Find a Switching Pattern of Digital Active Gate Drive for Reducing Both Switching Loss and Surge Voltage

open access: yesIEEE transactions on industry applications, 2019
A gate driving for power devices is a key technology to further improve switching characteristics. With the help of digital gate driver IC, the switching behavior of power devices can be enhanced even under high-speed switching.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Discontinuous PWM Strategy for Neutral Point Clamped Three-Level Inverter to Achieve Multiple Control Objectives

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In order to reduce switching loss of neutral-point clamped (NPC) three-level inverter (TLI), a switching loss minimized discontinuous PWM (SLMDPWM) strategy is proposed firstly.

Bistability loss as key feature in azobenzene (non-)switching on metal surfaces

open access: yes, 2012
Coinage metal adsorbed azobenzene is investigated as prototypical molecular switch. It is shown that switching capabilities are not just lost due to excited state quenching, but already due to changes in the ground state energetics.

Heterojunction Diode Shielded SiC Split-Gate Trench MOSFET With Optimized Reverse Recovery Characteristic and Low Switching Loss

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A split-gate SiC trench MOSFET with a hetero-junction diode (HJD) is proposed and numerically analyzed in this paper. The proposed structure features the HJD to effectively suppress the turn-on of the parasitic body diode and reduce the depletion region ...

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

Fast polarization insensitive optical shutters using dual frequency liquid crystals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Most of the existing displays and optical shutters based on liquid crystals work in combination with linear polarizers. This implies that often more than half of the light is lost due to optical loss in the polarizers and/or the fact that the incoming ...

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...
