Operational domains for circuit- and packet-switching

IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1996
The performance of circuit-switched and of packet-switched networks are portrayed as surfaces in a three-dimensional evaluation space. The intersection of these surfaces defines two operational domains-one optimal for circuit-switching and one for packet-switching. This result is applied to network planning in future operational domains.

One-Stage Lip-Switch Operation

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1985
A one-stage lip-switch operation was successfully performed on an 80-year-old woman with accompanying disorders. Postoperative venous congestion was controlled mainly by dressing changes with wet gauze.

Application of Operational Methods to Switching Problems

The Mathematical Gazette, 1942
In the interesting new book by Carslaw and Jaeger, Operational Methods in Applied Mathematics , a point is raised which does not seem to have been explained adequately in this or any other book on this subject that I have seen.

Q-switched operation of microchip lasers

Optics Letters, 1991
With a novel Q-switching technique, 6-ns output pulses are produced from a single-mode Nd:YAG microchip laser pumped with 120 mW of cw optical power. Rate-equation analysis indicates that with a pump power of 500 mW, Q-switched Nd:YAG microchip lasers having subnanosecond pulses and peak powers of several kilowatts are feasible.

THE MONITORING AND DIAGNOSTICS OF SWITCH OPERATING APPARATUS BY THE TIME DEPENDENCE OF POINT OPERATION CURRENT WITHOUT SWITCHING OFF THE SWITCH OPERATING APPARATUS

2014
On the basis of the analysis of  provided measurements results of time dependences and spectral structure of a switch transfer current with direct current machines at their serviceable condition, and also at various defects, the form of a curve and to a spectrum of a current depending on a technical condition of the machines are determined.
