AN ELECTRICALLY OPERATED SKIN RESISTANCE SWITCH

Psychophysiology, 1971
ABSTRACTA touch operated switch is described that uses a simple skin resistance detection circuit. This ‘isometric push‐button” type switch has no moving parts, is noiseless, and absorbs the minimum of energy from the subject. It was primarily designed for psychophysiological experiments where an operant response is required.

Transposition of the Great Vessels — The arterial switch operation, the atrial switch operation, the coronaries

Progress in Pediatric Cardiology, 2010
Abstract Transposition of the great arteries (TGA) is one of the more common congenital heart diseases, accounting for 5% to 7% of all congenital cardiac lesions. Patients are now treated with anatomical correction with the arterial switch operation.

Switching Operations and Commutation

1986
In Chap. 2 the system components required for a general description of the operation of a converter connection were defined. Assuming ideal conditions these are Voltage sources whose time response is given by u (t), Transformers with the transformation ratio w1/w2 and in the case of multiphase systems a phase dieplacement between primary and

The Arterial Switch Operation Before Jatene

Pediatric Cardiology, 2008
Attempts at the arterial switch operation predated the Senning and the Mustard venous switch procedures. No patients survived the earlier arterial switch methods. Therefore, from the 1960s to the 1980s, venous switch surgeries became the dominant treatment method for transposition of the great arteries.

The Duodenal Switch Operation for Morbid Obesity

Surgical Clinics of North America, 2005
The duodenal switch provides excellent weight loss with preservation of good alimentation, even in the superobese. This is accomplished with acceptable operative mortality and minimal dietary limitations and metabolic sequelae. The results of the duodenal switch that are reported in the literature should remove any inhibitions that exist about the use ...

Operational domains for circuit- and packet-switching

IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1996
The performance of circuit-switched and of packet-switched networks are portrayed as surfaces in a three-dimensional evaluation space. The intersection of these surfaces defines two operational domains-one optimal for circuit-switching and one for packet-switching. This result is applied to network planning in future operational domains.

One-Stage Lip-Switch Operation

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1985
A one-stage lip-switch operation was successfully performed on an 80-year-old woman with accompanying disorders. Postoperative venous congestion was controlled mainly by dressing changes with wet gauze.

Application of Operational Methods to Switching Problems

The Mathematical Gazette, 1942
In the interesting new book by Carslaw and Jaeger, Operational Methods in Applied Mathematics , a point is raised which does not seem to have been explained adequately in this or any other book on this subject that I have seen.
