High power switched mode power supply
2023The goal of this thesis was to research, design and build a switched mode power supply suitable for a high power audio amplifier application. The bulky and expensive line frequency transformers and large passive components were to be replaced by a more efficient (electrically and spatially) design. In order to be accepted by a community of audiophiles,

Electronic prognostics for switched mode power supplies
Microelectronics Reliability, 2007Abstract Switching power supplies have become ubiquitous in electronic modules and systems. From converting power types, power levels, or driving actuators, these power converters embody varying topologies but usually have high switching rates of up to 500 KHz, power devices such as MOSFETs, microelectronic components and a mix of passive components ...

Corona in switching power supplies
Proceedings of APEC 97 - Applied Power Electronics Conference, 2002Design literature for dealing with corona in switching power supplies for aircraft or in lamp ballasts does not contain the effects of the switching frequency on corona inception or extinguish voltages. Test data is presented showing these effects. Design techniques for corona are also discussed.

Design of Switching Power Supply in High Performance Switches
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014A switching power supply of high performance switches is designed in this thesis, which is able to supply stable power energy to switches. In the paper, I analyze the characteristic of switches load, and analyze the main circuit structure based on the study of basic principle of switches switching power supply.

Switching Power Supplies: Analysis of waveform distortion and absorbed powers
2007 9th International Conference on Electrical Power Quality and Utilisation, 2007Analyses to have a quantitative idea of the real behavior of Switching Power Supply (SPS) units from the point of view of waveform distortion and power absorption are developed. Results of several experimental tests performed by means of a test system built up at Laboratories of the Second University of Naples (Italy) are firstly reported.

Switching power supplies operating with partially saturated inductors
2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2015This paper discusses the inductor-saturation-aware design of switching power supply. A new modeling and analysis method is presented, including thermal dependence of parameters, which allows a reliable prediction of current waveshape and consequent losses for Ferrite Core (FC) inductors. The proposed algorithm can be easily applied to predict the range

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A SWITCHED-MODE POWER SUPPLY AND A SWITCHED-MODE POWER SUPPLY
2001In order to reduce switching losses, the frequency of a switched-mode power supply is lowered, in the instance of a diminishing output load, by frequency changes which can, however, cause disturbances, e.g. a corruption of the image geometry in television receivers.
