Switching power supplies

2015
Power supplies for modern electronic systems should be small, lightweight, reliable, and efficient. Linear power regulators, whose principle of operation is based on a voltage or current divider, are inefficient. They are limited to output voltages smaller than the input voltage.

Switch-Mode Power Supplies

1993
DC power supplies - either regulated or not - are needed in industrial equipment, in order to supply systems or part of systems with a suitable DC voltage. In the majority of cases, these supplies are fed from the single-phase industrial network.

Power Transformers for Switched Mode Power Supplies

IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 1985
The magnetic circuit of power transformers for switched mode power supplies is analyzed, and formulas are derived. A counter-biasing permanent magnet may be included in the magnetic circuit to increase the range of utilization of the magnetic saturated flux density Bs of the ferrite cores.

Switched-Mode Power Supply for Control System

2019 6th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT), 2019
Switched-mode power supplies (SMPS) are confidently replacing outdated linear power supplies. They are distinguished by high performance, improved stabilization indicators and compactness. The SMPS are widely used in power supply of control systems for small energy facilities. The article is devoted to the research of forward converter parameters.

Research on Switching Power Supply Based on Soft Switching Technology

2020
Aiming at the problem that it is difficult to realize zero voltage and zero current switching (ZVZCS) in the current switching power supply, the resonance energy of the lagging arm is insufficient. In this paper, with TMS320F2812 as the control core, the DC/DC part of the switching power supply is designed by using the PWM phase shift control full ...

Power Supply With Auto Switching.

Embedded system requires a regulated power supply. This power supply circuit gives a variable regulated supply  and switches off in no load condition. Through an arrangement of voltage regulator 7805 and a potentiometer the  output voltage is varied from 3.7V to 8.7V.

High power switched mode power supply

2023
The goal of this thesis was to research, design and build a switched mode power supply suitable for a high power audio amplifier application. The bulky and expensive line frequency transformers and large passive components were to be replaced by a more efficient (electrically and spatially) design. In order to be accepted by a community of audiophiles,

Electronic prognostics for switched mode power supplies

Microelectronics Reliability, 2007
Abstract Switching power supplies have become ubiquitous in electronic modules and systems. From converting power types, power levels, or driving actuators, these power converters embody varying topologies but usually have high switching rates of up to 500 KHz, power devices such as MOSFETs, microelectronic components and a mix of passive components ...
